Wallace F. Holladay, Chairman
Mr. Holladay founded The Holladay Corporation in 1952 as a builder of single-family homes. He later began developing multifamily rental, nursing home and commercial properties in Indiana, Tennessee, Colorado, and Washington, DC. In addition to overseeing the firm's development activities, Mr. Holladay is Chairman of the Board of the Virginia Roofing Corporation.
Mr. Holladay has been involved as founder and investor in numerous other businesses including mortgage and commercial banking, printing, metal fabrication, sand and gravel mining, and venture capital. Mr. Holladay, a registered architect, was educated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in architectural engineering.
Wallace F. Holladay, Jr., President
Mr. Holladay is responsible for all aspects of The Holladay Corporation's real estate efforts. Since joining The Holladay Corporation in 1973, he has completed the development and rehabilitation of over 3,000 multifamily rental and for-sale units throughout the area.
Mr. Holladay is currently on
the Board of Directors of the National Rehabilitation
Hospital, the Board of Directors of the First Tee of
Washington, Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia
Roofing Corporation and Vice President of Brandywine
Sand and Gravel Company. Prior to these positions, he
was a member of the Advisory Board of Riggs National
Bank, Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Phillips
Collection, and a member of the executive committee
of the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Club. He Mr.
Holladay graduated from Oberlin College and attended
American University Law School.
Rita J. Bamberger, Senior Vice President
Ms. Bamberger is a Principal
and Senior Vice President of The Holladay Corporation,
responsible for acquisition and development projects
in the Washington metro area. She joined Holladay in
1995 and has over 25 years of residential development
experience in the Washington area.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bamberger
was Director of Residential Development at The Charles
E. Smith Companies and a partner at Trammell Crow Residential,
where she completed 1,400 apartments and condominiums
in Washington, Richmond, and the Tidewater areas of
Virginia. She was also an associate in the Public Finance
Group of the Urban Institute. She is on the Executive
Committee of the Washington District Council of the
Urban Land Institute and a member of the Board of Directors
of the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing.
Rita has a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado
and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning
from The George Washington University.
Colleen S. Chavez,
Comptroller
Mrs. Chavez is responsible
for maintaining management information systems, cash
management, and corporate and partnership financial
control and accounting functions for The Holladay Corporation.
Prior to joining Holladay in 1993, she worked for a
Maryland public accounting firm. She graduated from
University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in
Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jill A. Donahue, Assistant Vice President
Ms. Donahue, who is a Certified
Property Manager and a licensed real estate broker in
Maryland and the District of Columbia, is responsible
for the management of The Holladay Corporation's properties
in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. She has been
with The Holladay Group since 1979.
Her professional affiliations include the Institute of Real Estate Management, Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors, and the Property Management Association.
Jessica S. Holladay,
Associate, Development & Acquisitions
Ms. Holladay is a member of the
development team working on the acquisition and development
of residential and mixed use projects.
Prior to joining The Holladay
Corporation in November 2008, she worked as an Assistant
Vice President in the Institutional Equity Sales Group
for FBR Capital Markets, an investment bank based in
Arlington, VA. Ms. Holladay received her BA in Economics
from Vanderbilt University and is currently a candidate
for a MS in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University.
Charles C. Hutchens,
Director of Development & Acquisitions
Mr. Hutchens is a member of the
development team working on the acquisition and development
of residential and mixed use projects.
He joined The Holladay Corporation
in July 2005, after working in the mortgage banking
group at Walker & Dunlop, a Washington area real
estate and financial services firm. Mr. Hutchens is
a graduate of the University of Richmond with a BA in
Economics.
Frances E. Manderscheid,
Executive Director, Retirement Division
Ms. Manderscheid holds a M.P.A.
degree from the University of Northern Colorado and
a B.A. degree in organization sociology from the College
of New Rochelle, New York. Since joining The Holladay
Corporation in 1977, she has participated in the development
and management of all operations in the Retirement Division,
and has served as its Executive Director since 1991.
Ms. Manderscheid is a former chairperson
of the Montgomery County, Maryland, Board of Social
Services and the Rockville, Maryland, Planning Commission.
Kathy Solis,
Director of Human Resources
Mrs. Solis has a Bachelor’s
degree in Human Resources Management from Park University,
Parkville, Missouri and a Master’s degree in Human
Relations from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma.
She has been a Human Resources
Director and Corporate Trainer since 1995 with expertise
in Assisted Living, Long Term Care, and Retirement Communities.
Mrs. Solis is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia Union
College and teaches various levels of Human Resources
Management in the Adult Evening Program. She is a member
of the Society of Human Resources Management and American
Society for Training and Development.
Stephen H. Weatherby,
Vice President of Construction
Mr. Weatherby oversees construction
operations including budgeting, production, scheduling,
and safety and quality control. He also assists in pre-development
project planning.
Mr. Weatherby joined Holladay in the spring of 2002
and has been in the construction industry for over 20
years. He is a graduate of the University of Maine with
a BA in Political Science.
S. Lee Weber,
Senior Vice President
Mr. Weber is a Principal
and Senior Vice President of The Holladay Corporation,
responsible for acquisition and development projects
in the Washington metro area. He joined Holladay in
1985 and has had various responsibilities including
leasing and management of commercial and residential
properties.
He is a licensed real estate broker
and operates The Holladay Corporation's Virginia brokerage
affiliate. Mr. Weber graduated from Saint Andrews
College with a B.A. degree in Business Administration.
